Culture is one of the terms that has been defined in a million different ways. It is also a hot topic in the circles of "best practices" in world language teaching. In addition, it can present challenges especially when we are delivering cultural information that is not our own.
However, it does not have to be difficult and in fact, it can be done in a fluid fashion.
I really like how Dr. Cole defines culture: a concept that has two parts, a social and a material component. By default, culture represents who we are and we do, the visible and the invisible. This means that we have a lot to tap on when we develop our plans that will eventually make it into our classrooms.
